Most of her work is flower painting, and occasionally landscape painting. She uses the techniques of painting in oil, tempera and water-colors.

Vlasta Tvrda is a regular participant of painting exhibitions and international painting symposia. Her first exhibition was with the Nova Paka creative artists group in 1977. More than fifty collaborative exhibitions followed, e.g. 1995-1996 in Japan (Kobe, Osaka, Tokyo).

Since 1986 Vlasta Tvrda presented her works in more than twenty independent exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, especially in Germany.

Her works are included in private collections in Great Britain, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Israel, Canada, USA, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, and Norway.
